I was listening to the radio today. The host (Brian Wilson who I think is syndicated) had on some type of money manager who was bullish on stocks for the short term and the long term.

This guy spouts off the comment that he attributed to Sir John Templeton. He said that by the end of this century 97 years hence, the DOW will be over 1,000,000.

This sounded a little preposterous to me. But some simple math shows that if the DOW grows at 8% per annum, then the DOW will move above 1,000,000 sometime in 2065.
