The most amusing note I read was in Davis' legal challenge, he suggests that he would put HIS OWN NAME on the list of alternate governors !

LOL! I love it.
The flaw in the Calif process is exposed to be the possibility of electing a new gov'nr in a non-campaign with a fraction of maybe 10% of the voters, which could be 4% of the electorate.

So, here's Davis saying, "fine, I'll put my own name there, so if 55% vote to recall, with no other major players I'll get 20% of the alternate vote, and be back in"

Pretty funny. Also the other legal challenge is to let voters vote on an alternate gov'nr WITHOUT VOTING ON WHETHER TO RECALL THE SITTING GOVNR. Therefore, the undecided can also have input. Very amusing.

The system is broken. No one anticipated a vain multimillionaire would pay signature gatherers $1 per to create a bogus indication of "public sentiment".

It'll have to be changed. Every gov'nr from now on is vulnerable to recall from the moment they take office. Even if there's a recall, the replaced govn'r can be immediately recalled by anyone who wants to pony up $1.5 million. It's nuts.
