If the economy takes off the deficits you worry about will be much forgotten, just like reagans. Wartime economies, post 9/11 and in the middle of a recession and overcapacity calls for that government spending among other things that you eschew. Hopefully the growth follows. Not a sure thing though and you could turn out to be right.
As for dean, he is unimpressive to me. My belief was is that a movement latched on to him as the candidate--the opposite of McCain and that if and when gore reappears or Graham begins to prove he is better informed, those folks will move their internet based campaign to them. And any of the three can make nice by choosing a moderate VP and moving toward the center. Then of course we can see if these radical internet dems can play the game to the finish. Remember nation bought reagan and bush43 as compassionate conservatives without offending their right wing base. Can the dems pull this off in this election cycle? mike
