The thought experiment, imo, went like this-
"what if everyone was gay? then people wouldn't breed- oh that's a bad thing, ergo homosexuality is "maladaptive" or some such thing. OR, alternately- what if everyone was gay? What if they DID breed- but they didn't make very good parents...I don't think they would make very good parents (or not as good as heterosexuals) ergo homosexuality is maladaptive."

edit- I've put the above in quotes, because I don't want anyone to think I agree with the above statements- and this IS a paraphrase. Feel free to more appropriately paraphrase the hypothetical if you feel the above leaves out some crucial element of the gay world hypo.

I don't think reasoning from the 100% gay world can be termed anything but absurd. WE can't KNOW if it would be good. Maybe it would be heaven on Earth. Not only is the notion absurd, but there is no way to test the absurdity- we merely project our present prejudices into this alternate absurd world. It doesn't PROVE anything- which is what fallacies speak to, of course.
