've asked anyone who makes that claim to explain which freedoms they've either lost or are afraid of losing. How about the freedom to not just disappear without a trace, without a charge, and without hope at the hands of the government. That's a pretty big one, I used to take it for granted until hundreds of people in this country did just that, disappear. Why? who knows, there is no indictment, no grand jury, no lawyer, no habeus corpus, no gravesite. Of course that's just one of Ashcroft's little surprises, but it's a pretty important one. TP
