It already is, no new connections needed. I heard Wolfowitz say today that the Mideast is the heart of the problem of terrorism, and Iraq is the heart of the Mideast.

What's more, it's true. You cannot have a huge demographic bulge of young men and women in hopeless political systems and economies, armed only with a militant and expansionist religion, without getting huge amounts of trouble. The Bush administration is bringing the jihad to the Arab's own turf in Iraq, and trying to bring some representational government and free markets along with it. It's a hell of a gamble, but better than sitting and waiting for the next 9/11.
