Not especially. But, of course, the hypothesis was not that they were hermaphroditic, but that they had strong homosexual inclinations, in which case the scenario is as I said. It is not fantasy, it is a logical outcome. Our ancestors would not even attempt to couple if they did not know the connection between sex and childbearing, and if some took it upon themselves to couple, most would try to excuse themselves from the distasteful work, or fail in arousal. The plain truth is that homosexuality is not on par with heterosexuality as a desirable trait.
