<<The Bush administration is bringing the jihad to the Arab's own turf in Iraq, and trying to bring some representational government and free markets along with it. It's a hell of a gamble, but better than sitting and waiting for the next 9/11.>>

By inflaming Iraqi resentment of our occupation of Iraq, we are creating ideal conditions for groups to recruit people with anti-American ideas, emotions and intentions, we are turning Iraq into something that it was not before -- a guerilla war zone. This is not al Qaida -- although al Qaida will exploit this if they can. This is an Iraqi guerilla war. If you think this is good policy for us to pin our troops down in an endless guerilla war of our own making, then I think you have not thought this through. As for Wolfowitz -- he is doing everything he can to save his own reputation and his own career.
