Kim is a whacko in the ultimate screwed up state and while the world around him descends into the depths of a hell few of us can imagine we are left with the issue of how to head off nuclear proliferation, nuclear terrorism, nuclear blackmail and nuclear war. Bolton acted like an idiot. The fact that Kim is an idiot does not mean that our government should then act like idiots. Kim is an asshole -- allowing a senior government bureaucrat to go to Asia to act like an asshole is not the best strategy to promote our national security or to prepare for talks with Kim.

I said I think we should have talks. I said North Korea is urgent -- Iraq certainly was not. I said direct talks are better than no talks. I said large talks are too slow. I said having Japan at the table will really be worse than not having them there. But I said nothing about what the talks should revolve around. I said nothing about Clinton and Clinton's talks.

You talk like a bitter old political hack with a deep ideological hurt on. Get over it. Our national security is too important to use it as an excuse to behave like assholes.
