My antennaes have been delayed. Kvhi had prototypes being tested in a salt evironment test.This accelerated the oxidation of the black paint. I'm very familiar with paint oxidation/delamination.In the hot glaring Texas sun we had a huge delamination problem on horizontal panels when Dupont talked the factory into using a scuffless primer.The ultraviolet light of our strong sun shine impacts the horizontal surfaces of a car. Well the A-5 will be the highest most horizontal surface of a vehicle.KVHI tests showed a graying of the black paint.This prompted a last minute change in the paint type and application equipment(I'm guessing they've changed to low pressure high viscosity auto finishes like I had to switch to) used on the outer plastic shell. New equipment was determined procured and being installed (actually I was told it was installed).My contact said the A-5 will start shipping on the 15th. Once again this shows the company's commitment to quality.This is not a problem of the rocket scientistkind thi kind of stuff has already been accomplished. I was told the production models meet prototype specs when I visited the company in April. As with any new product-production ramp up is always a huge organizational task.Every delay is always the result of the smallest most insugnificant part or an unanticipated problem. Think about it - KVHI's past products always used white plastic Radomes.Now they are painting the A-5. On high dollar SUV's it would look good to be able to color coordinate the antennae to the vehicle.I'm not sure they intend to do that - but at my store - I sure will. I have a bodyshop at my dealership.We do over 2,000,000 dollars of repair every year.Each job we guarantee for the life of the car to the repairing customer.I'll bet 35-50% of those cars we paint the roofs on.The application is very similar.It is not a problem. KVHI warranty will be 1 year from purchase - I doubt the tests showed any problem in the warranty period.My belief is these guys are so quality oriented they want their product to be better than expected - afterall it is a highend product and should perform and last as such. The Yahoo thread is a bunch of hot air - I wish them great success.When they push this great stock down to where I want to re-enter I will buying large blocks back again(I still have a 1%) core holding that is just plain long term buy and hold. However when those idiots are in the peak of their glee - they will find my aggressive buying squeezing their littles balls.GGG When you have them by their balls their minds shall soon follow. This is a great long term stock and a product upgrade that delays shipments for a week or two is far from a reason to short a stock. Take it for what you think it is worth - hope that helps. Valiant battle occurring at 19.00 right now, new low of 18.95 - 200 shares big deal. 18.39 is the recent low if it breaks that the shorts will be besides themselve and that'll be when they'll feel my clasp.HEHE Bob
