Al, My interpretation differs...the public fears a one sided bush administration in which hawks in the pentagon are not balanced by a, well, balanced politician whose testosterone level is under control.

The article made no mention of such "fear," nor did it allude to any hint of a more extremist Bush administration should Powell leave. All it mentioned is that Powell's departure would be a significant loss for Bush. As you just said, "Quit trying to make more out of it."

not a single one of them (with the exception of Sharpton) would divide the nation the way bush has.

Despite calls from some of them to step up their attacks on Bush? Despite their support for the blocking of judicial nominations? Despite their failure to define themselves in any other way other than the next "anti-Bush"?

Oh wait, you dislike Bush's policies, so obviously he's the one playing divisive, partisan politics.
