PB (Max), the final part of AVIR's clinical testing before submission is a 500 patient study designed to demonstrate consistency in manufacturing of the CAIV vaccine. It is expected to be completed by year end and word is that AVIR is going to try to get their NDA out in the first half of 1998. If they can do it earlier enough they have a shot of gettng approval for the 98 season. That may be another reason the road show is going so well. For those of you you have not been part of a road show they are an intensive series of presentations over a 10 day period of time to institutional investors. Sometimes the company will make 4 or 5 presentatins in a given day and in many cases in more than one city on many days. The larger institutional players get one on one presentations and the smaller players are part of a group. After the presentation there is a question and answer period. Sometimes info comes out in these presentations (especially the one on ones) that never make it into the public domain. From the price actions the institutions like what they are hearing. V1
