Interesting no matter how you look at it.

Nixon once said in the 60s after losing the governor's race to Jerry Brown's father - (and I paraphrase) "There's no such thing as bad publicity (read PR) - just get your name in front of the public as often as you can." And he was right - for awhile.

Publicity can work for you or work against you depending on how smart your "handlers" are.

Publicity/PR saved OJ from going to jail for the rest of his life for a dirty cold-blooded double murder.

It killed Campanella for a simple remark.

Bob Dornan, Newt, and a host of others merely *uttered* the wrong thing at the wrong time and ended up serving *a life term* - they're out of a job.
