Hi John This is the site for jumper settings support.wdc.com If you have only one drive in the system, the jumper should be in the NEUTRAL setting (or removed - same thing). If the new drive is being added to a system that already has a drive, jumpers are needed on both drives. Your new drive is an IDE, and the page link shows what to do. Good luck Sarmad
