Observe:

- This lastest (MSFT/AAPL) move comes from nowhere. Not even the rumor mills could have cranked this one out with any believability. My money was on a stock swap with CA...

- Jobs returns to the board of AAPL **as a rep for MSFT shares**

- MSFT hasn't yet BOUGHT the shares, but plans to do so over the next 3 years, at 50 mil per year. Notice that they created over a half billion dollars of value by claiming INTENT to spend $150 mil.

- Ellison-- buddy of Jobs and hater of big Bill is representing MSFT shares, also.

- 1/3 volume of outstanding shares traded hands. True, many shares were traded over and over again, but someone made a bundle on this.

What does all of this crap mean? Nothing! Here is the real crime that DOJ should be looking into:

For only $150 mil microsoft gets free reighn (yes, part of the agreement) to use APPLE PATENTS for both hardware and software. It is these patents, not apple's loyal fans, not the rainbow apple logo, not the dog-cow, that keeps Apple alive. MSFT has always had to reverse engineer every good deed AAPL has ever done, and as a result, screwed it up. Now there is nothing to keep Windows from lifting the ease of use and human interface, while keeping what is essentially an old Edsel of an operating system.
