By buying AAPL Microsoft preserves an important market and solidifies the stock price. Microsoft's stock dipped and only had a small rise today. FOOLS. Microsoft makes hundreds of millions from its Macintosh products; Macintosh products are more profitable than most of its Windows applications. If Apple's stock price doesn't fall, Microsoft will accomplish this for free, but if it rises in the next three years, Microsoft will make money on this move. I bought MSFT SEP 140 call on the dip today.
