The difference between "then" and "now" is amazing of course. The rise in the market since last October is all in anticipation of a recovery. Everyone knows that it is coming, but there is a lot of difference of opinion about when it is coming. The bulls think it is just around the corner and the bears think it is quite a ways away. The truth is probably somewhere in between.

The problem is IMO that a strong recovery is needed to justify even the present prices let alone further price increases. Even though the present earnings seasons had some good reports, the outlook is still murky as to when job recovery and capital equipment spending will increase substantially. Both are needed to justify the current SCE prices and potential further gains.
