Riley G probably left Mars at aphelion. That is why he is a little late. Any grogginess from the trip has probably passed so that cannot be offered as an excuse for incoherence.

If you spot Riley G, the best thing to do is to make a clenched fist, stick out your just your pinky, point it at Riley G and squeak, "Spot the Loon", this is a local Canadian euphemism indicating that someone's words may be discounted, even when they appear to be sane.
