I have been going on the basis of conversations with gay guys reporting on their feelings about heterosexual sex, whom I have know, but I neglected to take into account such a stratagem. The business about the prison is not as good, because some men do not willing engage in homosexual sex, or experience arousal if forced to perform the "female" role. Yes, guys who are basically straight in practice get into it, absent women, and revert to women when out, but they may easily be in the squishy part of the continuum---- not in the middle, but not at the end of profound heterosexuality, either, maybe 70% hetero, as it were. But quasi- masturbatory sex might work, as long as the repugnance factor was not too great, in allowing arousal. I doubt it, because the friends I have talked to are so put off by physical intimacy with a female, but you are right, it is not clear that that has to be an attribute of profound homosexual polarity. I will mull it over, but I think you have come up with something that really challenges my point strongly........ |
