Pathological lying can be affiliated with problems in the brain that cause malfunctions, allowing one to neglect reality for fabrication. The brain shuts off the perception of what is real and lies begin to flood the conversation. Chemical brain failure is not the only cause of pathological lying; low self-esteem can also be a contributing factor.
