As far as I'm concerned , the " source of much of this problem ", but not the only one,as you mention,is America's blind support for Israel,or should I say, " a Greater Israel".

I would suggest that the blind US support for the Saudis is MORE a source of the problem... Israel is a democracy and the Saudis are a totalitarian monarchy.

This Faustian bargain the Wahhabists made with the Saudis is nothing new. It has been known for years as they supported the Muslim Brotherhood (Ihkwan). But I don't believe that most expected that they would permit these militants to directly attack the US in such a manner.

But that said, I'm willing to be just as ruthless with the Israeli leadership, should they stand in the way of striking some semblance of a peace agreement in the region.
