Don't forget that the generation "below" you, me, and Karen was raised in a quite different social environment. They are children of the "me" generation, and tend, as a generalization, to make shift the balance between individual desire and societal good far more toward the gratification of individual desire. Fortunately, it appears that the generation now coming of age is turning back toward traditional values. But several of the posters here are in that time-warp generation, and their postings tend to show it.
