I would add that I think there's a further opportunity to disabuse those who misuse the theme or take it too far and if they can't be disabused, then renounce them. The opposition will never change anyone's mind. The only people who have a chance to stop the nuts are those who could pass for fellow travelers. Decent, honorable people, IMO, put some daylight between themselves and the nuts in their camp. They certainly don't give aid and comfort to them. And, even worse, pander to them.
