MrB,

Your assessment is accurate, as far as it goes. Exhilaration and excitement aren't the ends though (as you seem to have implied), but the means to an end. In other words, it's the exhilaration and excitement that allow, so to speak, one to tolerate the ups and downs of stock trading in "treacherous waters".

I'm currently hanging out there overnight with a "cliff-hanger" short position in AAPL at 26 5/16. I could get badly burned. However, if my intent was to merely gamble for the excitement, I'd go to Vegas - at least there I could see the outcome of my moves in a more timely fashion. No need to wait overnight to get the results. <g>

Thanks for your take on AAPL. I agree that in all of today's news, the board shake-up is the most important factor relative to AAPL's long-term future. I also agree that the smartest thing to have done today was to stay on the sidelines. But being on the sidelines just isn't compatible with my genetic makeup. I just had to get in there. :-)
