LOL - 'Capitalist' fails to win over communist China
By Richard McGregor in Shanghai

Communist China has marched a long way down the capitalist road since embracing the market 20 years ago, even admitting businessmen into the top organs of the party last year in a nod to their economic contribution.

But Lu Yuzhang, a Shanghai law graduate and budding businessman, has found that his efforts to register a company name with the word "capitalist" went too far for the authorities.

Mr Lu tried to register his putative business consultancy as the "Shanghai Capitalist Competition Advisory Company", but immediately ran into obstacles.

His application was blocked by the city's commercial bureau, citing the Chinese constitution's clause that China was a democratic dictatorship founded on an alliance of "workers and peasants".
