Dear Hoo Hoo, I choose b. < (b) homo sapiens have in fact become a new "thing" under the sun? >

Definitely quite a new thing under the sun. Same principles still. But with new stuff too. With newer and bigger coming fast. Compare a chimp tribe, a Papua New Guinea tribal village, a city like, say, Antwerp or Singapore and the human city of cyberspace and then cyberspace in It's own right.

It has been a gradual shift, so it has sneaked up on everyone. Ted Kaczynski spotted what's going on. So have others, such as Bill Joy as in "Why the future doesn't need us",http://www.wired.com/wired/archive/8.04/joy.html Ray Kurzweil and Stephen Hawking.

The humans are changing and integrating into a new symbiotic entity with cyberspace and the integrated automated world which has evolved from the industrial revolution.
