What if they were married in Canada or Outer Slobovia? They'd still be married in Washington, no?

No. Washington has a law that declares that only male-female relationships are marriges. That law is trumped by the Constitutional Full Faith and Credit provisions, which is why despite Washington's law a "marriage" of homosexuals in Hawaii would have to be recognized here.

But we have no FF&C with Canada, Outer Slobovia, etc. So no, we are not obligated to accept people married there as married here. That has in fact been tested; people have come to the US who are in polygamous marriages which are legal in their own countries, but in the US they are only married to their first wives, and if they try to claim marriage to more than one wife, they can be charged with bigamy.

And just wait until some state supreme court declares that their constitution requires recognition of polygamous marriages and hear the outcry!
