Peter, your defense of NDS is appreciated

Are you in any position to relate % of Novell customers using the product?

I think its great to do a comparison of various directory approaches. I would particularly like to hear about the IBM announcement and why you think any of these companies would do Novell the favor of making NDS a commercial standard?

I mean I understand its in the interests of SUNW, IBM, NSCP and ORacle to divide up who can do what best in order to beat MSFT. And I certinly believe you when you say that NDS is the technically most advanced directory product.

But you heard Steve Jobs. Kiss Pope Bill's ass today or kiss yours goodbye tomorrow. Thats what CPQ,HP,DELL,& IBM --- companies that are and want to make money are doing.

The Apple audience booed Big Brother but hey Americans are absolutely in love with monopolies. They think Bill is going to make them rich with the crumbs that fall off his table. They don't have any sense of history. Do you think anybody remembers what monopolies ultimately do to the consumer or to anyone that gets in their way. Do you think anybody is worried about the concentration of power? There is no leadership here in the US at all on this issue. Our President takes payoffs from China and sets our trade policy accordingly. Money talks and the politicians walk.

I certainly understand the Fluor example presented here by Gerald but I think its come down to the numbers. What % of Novell enterprise customers are using NDS and will buy BorderManager and other add-on products?
