China's July industrial output up 16.5 pct yr/yr

BEIJING, August 11 (Reuters) - China's industrial output rose 16.5 percent in July compared with a year earlier as the nation's factories cranked out more cars, mobile phones and electronics, the State Statistical Bureau said on Monday. Industrial output in the January to July period rose a year-on-year 16.4 percent, the bureau said in a statement.

China's factory output rose 16.9 percent year on year in June and 13.7 percent in May.
