Israel has started 1) taking down illegal settlements, 2) withdrawing from Area A (so far, Bethlehem and Qalquilya have been handed over) and have greatly toned down operations against the terror groups. There have been no assasinations. They have dismantled a number of checkpoints. They have also released 400 terrorists from jail as a good-will gesture.
On the other hand, there have been 40 attempted terrorist strikes against the Israelis (10 with suicide belts), half a dozen Israelis have been kidnapped off the streets in northern Israel with several already murdered, and there have been two shooting attacks against cars driving in Israel. And Mr "Prime Minister" Abbas refuses to even intend doing anything about dismantling the terrorist organizations, which may I remind you, is Step 1 of the "performance-based" roadmap. Naturally, Hamas et. al. are using this breather to rearm and regroup.
And oh yes, Hizbullah has been shelling Northern Israel daily, and the IAF finally responded. Well, they never agreed to the so-called hudna.
So if you're going to complain about non-implentation of the roadmap, how come you spend all your time complaining about the side that is doing something instead of the side that is doing nothing?
How can you expect the Israelis go full-steam ahead "normalizing" Palestinian life while they are still being attacked by active terrorist organizations?" How many Israelis do you think should voluteer to die to satisfy you?
status quo as of 3 years ago does not include a Wall that annexes 58% of the West Bank to Israel
Whatever you're smoking, I wish you'd stop it. The current path of the Wall is set to annex about 5% or 6% of the West Bank to Israel. |
