Also, I understand that Iraq was threatening to change their oil trade from Do$$ars to Euros. That would have really killed the U.S.'s dominance of the oil market and set an awful precedent going forward. That was probably one of the reasons that we attacked Iraq, the other being the fact that Iraq sits on the 2nd largest oil reserves in the world (possibly the largest when all is accounted for). That's an awfully big temptation for a big bully like the U.S. with all it's military might. Why not just take it and exploit it, who's going to stop US (that's the neocons line of thinking)?
