I assume you think that somewhere in the Bible it gives a date for Creation that is only a few thousand years back. This was something you learned in Sunday School after handling the snakes, was it? Or perhaps in that course on hermeneutics? Well, since you think "the Biblical story is a beautiful one", I'm sure you will be able to point out for our edification where it gives a date for Creation. I'm always willing to listen to the exegesis of a scholar.
