Henry Brookins has been known to fit a MA to a stock so that it catches the short term correction or pivot points then establish a paralell line catching the highs. The length of the MA will differ for stock.

This would set the unique cycles effecting the stock. I once tried this method a little and it was good if you track only a few stocks and have the time.

As for the bernstein version, I looked at it but it didn't fit my mindset.
