Jews were only "on" those lands, in the sense that the fading colonial power (Britain) had made a vague promise to bequeath parts of that land to the up-and-coming colonial power (Israel).
As opposed to the ACTUAL bequeathment of land to colonial Arabs such as the Hashemites in Jordan and Iraq, Alawites in Syria(by France), Maronites in Lebanon, let alone the Saudis in Arabia, all carved out of the Ottoman Empire??
What people of your ilk seem to forget is that much of the middle east was, and still is, tribally based. There were no national boundaries, or even national identities. People were identified by their tribes...
And when the British and French carved up the Ottoman Empire after WWI, they decided to support certain tribes, putting them in power, and essentially forcing the subjugation of hundreds of other tribes...
Subjugating their lands, their autonomy, their economy, their property, and forcing them to live under the rule of people who, in all likelihood, had previously been their rivals and enemies..
This happened over and over again... And still happens to this day... But I don't see people of your ilk complaining about it, or taking up the rights of those subjugated tribes.
And I certainly don't see you taking up the cause of the Kurds, people who chose to fight their battle for independence solely against their Turkish occupiers, AND NOT by hijacking western aircraft, or committing terrorist acts outside of their region..
Maybe if they had, you'd be rooting for them as well, eh?
