LOL! Exactly. Here's what the activitsts suggest as a way to fight back:
"--Form a Votescam community watch group in your area. ...Our common cause is this: Clean, open, verifiable elections, with a paper trail, and citizen watchdog groups, with no major media control over the vote results. Period. No ideology involved.
--... gather others who can understand the tyranny inherent in a secret ballot count. Network with surrounding communities. Contact people who can be of special use: writers, lawyers, candidates, student activist organizers, etc. Join forces with unlikely allies, involve conservatives and liberals, all party members. Show your community that this is everyone's cause.
Remember, there cannot be a secret ballot count! It is unconstitutional! Don't be intimidated by elections supervisors. They are public servants! And many of them are not trained in election law. You might know more than they do.
-- Demand your local media cover the story when you video tape the vote. Make it clear that videotaping a computerized vote count is not enough, you must be able to see the ballot count with your eyes.
--Start a petition to throw out the computerized vote in your area and present it to your Secretary of State and Elections Supervisor. Demand citizen access and control over the vote count.
--Contact Congressional candidates in your area and ask them to run a commercial in which they talk about votescam and the need for verifiable elections. This is allowed by law, they cannot be censored. As long as the material is not pornographic or offensive, they can say what they like. This is a great opportunity for independent candidates.
--Air copies of the Votescam video on your public access stations.
--Foster and support independent candidates in your area. Breath some new life into the political void by running for office yourself!
--If you are more radically inspired, feel free to engage in nonviolent civil disobedience at the polls. Lock down to a voting machine! Have a sit-in at your local precinct. Organize mass direct-action campaigns on election day in your county. Be creative, and have fun!
These are some ideas to start. Remember, it's your country, your vote, and your future, but we are all in this together.
Whatever you do, please document it and let us know.
