About 22 years ago, my nephew was in an auto accident in which he experienced a sever blow to the head. He developed Epilepsy and has taken a medicine that sedates him ever since.

While the Epilepsy is under control, the medication has resulted in his living a very sedentary life and gaining lots of weight. If he doesn't get his weight under control soon, it will be a bigger problem than Epilepsy. He is 39.

Are there any new medications in development that you are aware of for Epilepsy that are non-sedating?

Any ideas will be greatly appreciated. Thanks as always.
