The google list seemed to make my point about how "family values" is perceived as code and thus has been trivialized. Let me be clear that I didn't actually follow any of those links. Had I done so, my reaction might have been different.

Re mocking, I don't think it's appropriate to mock holders of genuine family values. I do, however, think that those who are using "family values" as code deserve to be mocked for their deceit. IMO, what is being mocked, if anything, is hypocrisy of the coders.

I'm sorry if I offended you. I had mentioned to you earlier in our discussion when you first mentioned the expression that I didn't think you were using it as code so any tone you might have perceived in my reaction was not directed at you.
