(spending programs) yeah I don't get that about Arnold either. The man is a republican though, and if you are a republican you come with the republican no taxes agenda I thought. California like all states has a balanced budget provision so Arnold can't do what Bush did and go into default. I assume his programs want to move money around, fine by me.

Davis spent A TON on prisons, and overpriced energy. I guess there is nothing we can do about the energy. The prisons are something of a mandate from the 3 strikes law. Still, it isn't cost effective to lock up serial Napster users or people that steal golf clubs (the golf clubs example is REAL). So there is indeed money being used unwisely in California to say the least. The overpayment for energy that CA is still enduring (despite the ruling by the courts that these contracts were signed in a FRAUDULENT climate) I blame Bush for. Maybe Arnold can get through to Bush and let these contracts slide, I don't know. Whatever Bush does for Arnold, it won't help him win this state though.

Personally I also like Peter Ubberoth. He has a little more managerial background, he managed the 84 olymics with a tidy profit for LA. Uberoth and Arnold are my kind of repblicans (presuming that Arnold balances the budget).

I would have been happy if Leon Paneta the dem would have run also. I would have considered a vote for him. Some dems are fiscally ok.

BTW the cancellation of these visas is going to improve the jobs and taxes climate in CA fairly dramatically. Those things are costing the state a fortune.
