Dear Mrs. Bush,

Can you believe the nerve of some people? Over 150 groups are organizing to be part of the "Greatest Show On Earth" come next September in New York City. Seems as though lots of folks are kinda P.O.ed that your hubby is going to attempt to exploit the tragedy of 9/11 for political gain. The nerve of some people.

Here's the report from the "Horse's" mouth:

"SHOWDOWN"

AMERICANS TO EXPOSE BUSH EXPLOITATION OF 9/11

HUNDREDS OF GROUPS TO PROTEST IN NYC DURING 2004 GOP CONVENTION

NEW YORK CITY AND AMERICA WILL NOT ALLOW THE REPUBLICAN PARTY TO DECLARE THEIR FELLOW CITIZENS MARTYRS FOR THE BUSH AGENDA

Imagine that a week after September 11, 2001, the Bush regime had announced its intention to hold its 2004 Republican Convention in New York City as near in time as possible to the anniversary of the terrorist attacks.

Imagine if plans were set in motion then for a ceremony at which the individual who stole the last presidential election - and the one who abused that ill-gotten power combined with political capital gained from the terrorist attacks to ram through a religious fundamentalist and anti-American agenda - would lay the cornerstone at Ground Zero, the site of the murders of thousands of Americans at the hands of democracy hating religious fanatics.

It would be unfathomably outrageous and shocking, right?

The fact that the announcement came within two years after the 9/11 attacks is no less outrageous or shocking. It was inevitable, of course, given the grotesque sensibilities of this regime and its relentless exploitation of those killed on that fateful day toward advancing its right-wing, neocon agenda. But the absence of comment on the part of the national media and the Democrats at the time the site and date were selected and since has been disgraceful.

The good news, however, is that it looks as though New Yorkers and other Americans are not going to stand by as thousands of their friends, family members, and fellow citizens murdered on that day are made involuntary martyrs by this morally corrupt crowd.

The New York Times is reporting that 150 groups so far are planning to gather for protests during the GOP Exploi-vention including family members of the victims.

The protests will be peaceful, with the overarching theme of exposing George W. Bush and the Republican Party's crass use of the 9/11 victims to advance their agenda and shore up Bush's poll numbers (as well as their exploitation of those US soldiers dying every day in Iraq for what now appears to be one reason only: "Mission Accomplished" Photo ops for Bush in a pilot suit on the USS Abraham Lincoln).

We hope every other group of concerned Americans, such as moveon.org will help organize and galvanize their memberships to expose this travesty.
