Don,

No. I had not. I think it is very useful. Thanks for pointing it out.

By the way, I do agree with you that the current earnings do not support the valuations of most tech companies. But I fail to understand where the market is going wrong. It is not just you and I who know that in general 4c/share/quarter cannot justify a stock price in the teens.

Why has AMAT's price persisted up there so long ? Is anyone expecting tomorrow's report to be 20c ? I really don't think so.

So I think that stock prices, as well as more important societal issues are not determined by their true long-duration merits.

Whether AMAT was making 4c or $4 is irrelevant. It has never paid a dividend, and no one expects it to pay a dividend in their lifetime. It is not going to be liquidated, with the proceeds distributed to the shareholders.

So obviously, AMAT is not being sold as an investment. It is a currency. A store of value.

Yes that NASDAQ page is interesting, and I'm glad to know about it. But if you can find a similar comparative evaluation using psychological methodologies, that would be even more useful.

In my opinion, AMAT could have any price from $5 to $50, and it wouldn't surprise me.
