Great to hear from you! I also really enjoyed those thread gatherings at the Expos. As I recall, we had 4 or 5 of them, starting with the first Expo in California in late 1999 until our last one sometime in 2001, I think.
One of my biggest regrets in the last two years is not making the time to go to another Expo. I found real value in meeting with my fellow traders, as well as talking with the reps from the various industry companies (brokers, ECN's, software, etc).
Hopefully, I'll get to an Expo sometime in the next year and make up for what I've missed in the last couple of years.

P.S. If my memory serves me, you were teaching at a university on the east coast (Economics professor? somewhere in Pennsylvania?). Is this remotely close to being correct (memory check), and if so, are you still teaching? |
