if we can't have them as legal residents, we should just stop buying whatever they are selling.

Almost all of the agricultural products grown in California (and for the USA as a whole) that cannot be harvested using a mechanical machinery employ illegal aliens from Mexico and Central America.

So for a start you should stop eating all fresh fruit.
