Under the neocons all the jobs are outsourced in favor of quick profits.

Yeah well, for every job outsourced there goes another Bush vote.

The software business is going to re-emerge in SV now that the visas are going away imho. The flood of cheap labor was creating something of a climate of despair here. Fewer people means more of a cottage industry like we had in the ealy 90s before the internet. I think we will come up with some good stuff- especially in the film/media area. What we need is to make these jobs fun again, too many people have said to me lately that their software R&D job used to be fun but now is more of a sweatshop atmosphere.
