But that presumes you won't have some satisfaction doing the other thing. You may even get MORE satisfaction- it's hard to quantify such things. Helping your child is the right things to do (imo) but it may also make you very happy doing it. It will probably only make you unhappy if you approach it with the idea that you are making some sacrifice. Very few people want to be helped by a martyr. imo
