Canadians could be doing far more in Afghanistan, it is our duty to do the best we can, having incurred a responsibility by invading .... we could be setting an example for our allies, and i am not happy with the failure of our government to seize the opportunity to do so

There is far more than regime change necessary here, rather a complete societal development .... on security, we could have classes for afghans at the mountie training facility in Regina, by this time we could have had a thousand mounties proficient in the local languages, and spending time in-country ...... forestry - every foto of the land shows it denuded, they need a Jean Pinetreeseed to teach them longer-term values for timber than feeding the leaves to goats or burning it for firewood .... there could be five thousands civilian afghan students here right now, experiencing a culture that works ... but just on security, we could be doing far more, and we're not, it is shameful ... [i've expressed this, in roughly the same words, to two MPs, by the way]
