OK, you think we should maintain our commitment to Israel but we should strongarm them into an appeasement policy. Well, that's one issue.

But what about commitments to free flow of oil from the Persian Gulf - which past President's have made commitments to?

Some evidences of that commitment would include:
FDR's declaration of SA as a vital interest of the US.
The Carter Doctrine - which says we'll fight to prevent the domination of the Persian Gulf by any other outside power.
Reflagging Kuwaiti tankers during the Iran-Iraq war.
Provision of satellite intelligence to Iraq to help prevent its conquest by Iran.
Gulf War 1 & 2
Etc.
