Darling Intl 2nd-Quarter Net More Than Doubled Tuesday August 12, 11:57 am ET
IRVING, Texas (Dow Jones)--Darling International Inc.'s second-quarter income more than doubled, as sales rose 30.4% from a year ago, and lowered depreciation, amortization and interest expenses. In a press release Tuesday, the food processing by-products recycling company said earnings for the three months ended June 28 increased to $3.2 million, or 5 cents a share, from $1.2 million, or 3 cents a share, last year.
Second-quarter sales rose to $78.5 million from $60.2 million last year, led by increases in finished-product prices and finished-products purchased for resale.
