The only "more" that I know of is that he went into business for himself making candles. Now, that really sounds silly until you realize there were lucrative government subsidies for candle makers _ among other manufacturers _ considered threatened by foreign imports. As the subsidies evaporated (which weren't really meant for him in the first place), so did his business.
