Nadine you seem to be a straight shooter but we do not own Iraq. It does not belong to us. We do not own their oil. The revolution in Iran was indeed a reaction to a brutal dictator that hung on to power because we armed him to the teeth to keep him in power. We will do far better when we play no role in ME politics. And as long as we meddle in the ME, much less invade and continue a military occupation, the ME will be a fountain of anti-US sentiment and anti-US terrorism. As for "no alternative to oil", that is also naive. The US is capable of far more than simply depending on ME oil. We grease our economy with cheap oil. This is the easy way out, except for all of the consequences such as terrorism and global warming. When we are serious about addressing the real issues, perhaps we will make progress. Until then, apologists will flap their gums about having "no choice".
