You definitely made my Christmas card list, A. LOL. Just have to say I am not much of a timer; I stay fully invested long almost all the time.

But it's how you go long that matters. I hit a new YTD high yesterday. Most of the time I ignore what "the markets" are doing and focus on my stocks.

I see people all over SI wrestling with rates and employment and gold prices and SP500 valuations and all that stuff, trying to decide what to do with their portfolios based on that. It's like trying to divine the meaning of life before you go grocery shopping.

Who cares? Buy what you like and what you need and stay focused. You will relieve yourself of a whole cloud of useless worry, and possibly produce better results in the long-term.

Disclosure - I am not a crack trader so I don't have much choice except to focus on stockpicking. But I bet I sleep better than many of the traders around SI.
